This Christmas our marriage will be back on track.
After all, we had several days of family reunions isolated from the rest of the world. Correct?
Wrong.
When my wife came home with her coworkers on Christmas Eve, nothing I could do or say would change her mind about inviting him to spend Christmas with us.
“He shouldn’t be alone,” she insisted. “This is the first Christmas he’s been forced to spend without his wife and son.” She gave me a look that said the subject wasn’t worth discussing. Then he walked into the room, leaving me unable to argue further.
Before long, I felt like an outcast in my own family.
There’s no denying that he blends in really well. My kids love him and even my mother, who usually has a hard time convincing him, doesn’t see what my problem is. But I can see right through him.
I’ll prove why.
