We’re just a week away from AMC launching The Walking Dead Season 4. Ahead of the premiere, some fantastic trailers have already hit the internet, and from brand new images to some fascinating clips, most fans can’t wait to see the show return. Fans have slowly been drawn to The Walking Dead, but nothing will satiate their appetite like the show’s return. Season 3 was the pinnacle of AMC and live-action drama, and Season 4 promises to be plenty of crazy action. As we said, we’ll be covering The Walking Dead graphic novel on October 13th.day. Here’s volume 2 of author Robert Kirkman’s fascinating graphic novel: Miles Behind Us.
After Wake’s untimely but spontaneous death, the group packs up and prepares to move to camp. Their land has lost its illusion of safety, and winter is beginning to take its toll on Rick and those around him. On the way, the group of survivors encounter Tyreese, his daughter, and her dorky boyfriend. Not quite showing his jaded attitude yet, Rick allows Tyreese to stay with him and share supplies in exchange for some hard work and help keeping the crew alive. A gated community called Wiltshire Estates initially seems like a good place to rest up, but after a night of sleep, the undead shamble out of the buildings, and Rick quickly realizes this is no place for someone with a pulse. They’re on the road again, but not long after, Carl is accidentally shot and killed by Otis, a wandering hunter with the IQ of a tortoise. Carl survives the accident thanks to the help of Hershel Greene, who excels in medical work and owns a farm large enough for the group to be held captive and operate undercover for a few weeks. But things start to get dicey, and before long they’re back on the sidewalks and blood-stained white lines. But this time, the group stumbles upon a promising building. Long-standing, it’s much more secure thanks to towering walls and endless barbed fencing. But can the group find a way to clear the prison of roaming zombies? Or is this just an unclaimed golden goose?
The trend of characters over creatures established in the first volume of The Walking Dead graphic novel hasn’t changed at all. Those rotting corpses aren’t the only problem in this post-apocalyptic world. With each passing day, humanity becomes more and more unstable, and unstable people resort to violent acts and irrational decisions. More and more members of Rick’s team are attacked by the walkers, and food is becoming increasingly difficult to come by. It all takes a toll, slowly sapping the team’s morale, but for now, Rick is still in control. However, the prison may be both a sanctuary and a death sentence, but we’ll have to wait until the next volume or so to find out.
The Walking Dead: The Closer remains the only zombie story that has held my attention, and it continues the story’s gradual increase in intensity. Our look at the central characters becomes more complicated with the news of Donna’s death and Lori’s pregnancy announcement: she’s pregnant, and it may not be Ricks. Oops, this is too real. Another great read that leaves readers eager to know what’s next. Stay tuned for Volume 3 to get coverage in the next day or so!
