The Beast of Venice by Michael E. Henderson Review – Horror Fiction Review

By Vitina Molgaard

“We know what we are, but not what we can be.” – William Shakespeare

Brighton Stone is an artist who craves success and works hard to achieve it, but he has one very big fear… aging and dieespecially. He was a man of great talent, but that was not enough for him. Unsatisfied, he sought a way to live longer and become famous. The artist is an American who now lives in Venice, Italy, with his beloved wife, Rose.

While exhibiting his work at a local studio, Brighton meets another American, Charles Raymond, a wealthy man who seems eager to become a patron of all Brighton’s work. In fact, Charles wants this and more, as he is a vampire who offers Brighton eternal life.

The artist thus finds himself caught up in temptations and how costly it is to realize them. The question is, will he succeed?

I’m not usually a fan of vampire stories, but this one was pretty awesome.

Michael E. Henderson has written a remarkable horror story. He takes us to strange and dark places that I thoroughly enjoyed. This is a story that comes highly recommended. The twists and turns that the main character is willing to go through in his attempt to recover make for a fascinating scenario and a fantastic journey.

I recommend you check out this book now. I found The Beast of Venice to be much more than a mediocre book. I think you will agree.
