Review of Ill at Ease by Mark West, Neil Williams, Stephen Bacon – Horror Fiction Review

Finally feel uneasy

By Paula Limbaugh

I think I did it backwards. I read and reviewed Sick Relaxed 2 First of all, I love this book and I have to read it. disturbed. Gosh I’m glad I did, it’s hard to say who has the better story. All three authors featured here have stories in second books and they’re all fantastic. So even though this book was published in 2011 and is only 53 pages, I thought you should check it out.

Stephen Bacon’s Waiting for Josh tells a story of redemption. Dale’s friend has been away from home for some time and lives in London as a journalist. He has just been called home to visit his childhood friend, Dale, who is dying. It has been 20 years since they last met, and both have taken very different career paths. Dale leaves his friend a cryptic message, hoping that this message will set things right and explain the paths they are on.

Mark West wrote a story with a very deceptive title in Come See My House in a Beautiful Town. It sounds like a wacky story but it is a scary behind the scenes story about the lengths people sometimes go to to keep their town safe. I have to say this story really stuck with me and I can’t stop thinking about it.

Finally, we come to Closer Than You Think by Neil Williams. Dave was taking out his stuff in the local dumpster when he found a woman throwing away a car seat. He offered to take it and bring it home to his daughter. Strange things started happening, and eventually Dave began to think the car seat might be haunted. It’s a story that’s too late, too scary.

Please order this book and read it, you won’t regret it!
