Fast-paced and non-stop action. That’s what you’ll find in Michaelbrent Collings’ The Colony: Renegades. The bestselling author has done it again, and the sequel to The Colony: Genesis won’t disappoint!
The story begins at the end; Ken and a small group of survivors open the door to the ninth floor, hoping to do whatever it takes to find his family. They step out of the elevator and into the lobby, where they see bodies piled up at both ends of the hallway. Not just bodies, but limbs, heads ripped from torsos, all of which are piled in a mess and held together with a glue-like substance. As they begin to decompose wall, Zombies start to appear, angry about the walls being torn down. The zombies have now evolved, and not only can they spit out this sticky waxy substance and build houses, they can now think, cooperate, and communicate with each other.
Ken’s family is eventually found in an office, whose door is sealed with the same glue-like substance. They finally break through the blockade and see strands of silk, hanging everywhere like a giant spider web. Ken’s family and two other people are wrapped in a cocoon-like box. When the zombies are about to catch up with them, the survivors are able to free everyone from the cocoon and start to escape. This is no easy task. Now, there are young children inside, as well as adults who are unable to move due to their own injuries. Ken’s daughters are acting strangely; the zombies are approaching and can track them down no matter where they go.
If this was a movie, I would be jumping up and down for them! It’s that good! I didn’t want the book to end, and it didn’t! Michaelbrent Collings is continuing the saga with The Colony: Descent, and I can’t wait!
