The South is warm and welcoming, but has a small amount of homicide
Welcome to the Bean Hive Cafe, where the gossip is as hot as the coffee!
Roxanne Bloom quit her job as a lawyer, divorced her cheating husband, and moved to the quaint town of Honey Springs, Kentucky, where she spent many summers as a teenager visiting her eccentric And the funny Aunt Maxi. Roxy followed her dream and opened The Bean Hive, Honey Springs’ first coffee shop, on the town’s newly revitalized boardwalk. Just in time for Honey Springs’ annual Honey Festival. Life couldn’t be better for Roxy.
Business is booming, and she reconnects with special friends from her past, including her first teenage love, and visits Crooked Cat Bookstore, which remains her favorite store in Honey Springs. One of the problems was that Aunt Maxi wasn’t on good terms with Crooked Cat owner Alexis Rock.
Alexis rents the bookstore building from Aunt Maxie, and the rent is rising. Roxy brings Alexis a fresh cup of coffee from The Bean Hive and a delicious pastry as a peace offering between the two women, but discovers that the beloved bookstore owner has been murdered, and Mark Aunt Xi is the prime suspect.
With the gossip in Honey Springs as lively as the coffee served at the Bean Hive, Roxy must find out who’s behind the murders to save not only her store, her aunt, but her life.

Welcome to the Bean Hive, where the gossip is as hot as the coffee!
I picked up one of the books. As I remember, the first page of the book had a “BANNED BOOK” stamp on the inside. I run my fingers over it and it makes me smile.
“Alexis?” I called. “Pepper, here,” I chided him as he ran through an open door clearly marked: Alexis Only. “Can’t you read?”
I clicked my tongue, knowing she was probably there stocking up and getting ready for the grand opening. Or even prepare to come back and put together a better display of banned books.
“Alexis?” I called as I walked in the door. “Alexis?” My voice cracked as I saw a pair of feet sticking out from behind the desk. “Alexis!” I screamed as I saw her lifeless body lying on the ground, with a familiar-looking donut on top and the word “BANNED” emblazoned on her forehead , the seal was placed next to her.
