“You said you couldn’t imagine what it would be like to lose your child. Let me make it easy for you. This is the beginning of the end of the world for you.”
What a horrible, horrible story! !Kieran Patrick Burke’s blanqui If you’re afraid of having your heartstrings pulled, twisted, and then torn apart, this book isn’t worth reading. He will make you cry and unearth repressed memories of loss and regret. He will rip your heart in half and give you hope, only to rip it out too. It’s been a long time since I’ve read a story that moved me so much. I love it!
Losing a child can tear a family apart, and that is exactly what happened to Stephen and Lexi. Stephen shared with us his deep sorrow over the death of his young daughter, Robin. His wife could no longer bear to live in a home filled with Robin’s memories, so they found themselves separated and living alone in their grief.
Stephen is surprised and excited one day when Robin’s baby blanket turns up in the empty room that once belonged to her. He called Lexi to tell her what he had discovered, and she immediately came over to retrieve Robin’s small piece. The second-hand blanket “Blank” was bought by Lexie at an open market before the baby was born as a gift for her child.
Ah, holding the blank in her hands again, Lexie began to let herself feel again. Reminiscing with Stephen, they find they may be able to think about the future together again.
But… yes, there is always a but, sometimes things are not meant to be and joy can turn to horror in the blink of an eye. Oh, what an emotional roller coaster ride it has been.
I don’t know how Kieran was able to write a story like this without draining himself of energy, maybe, he did. All I know is that this is a beautifully written story that flows effortlessly on the page. I couldn’t put it down. Indeed, one of his best! Please select this… here!
