Keith Deininger’s God’s Game Review – Horror Fiction Review

By Paula Limbaugh

I first read Frank Herbert’s duneHe brought me into a world so fascinating and vivid that it has stayed with me all these years, and I mean many years! Today I have found another writer who is able to create such a world, so visual that its landscapes come alive in my mind as I read. The author, Keith Deninger. This book, Game of Gods.

If you have read Keith’s stories, you will know what I am talking about. Keith writes in a very vivid way that makes you completely immersed in the story. The images are so vivid and the characters are so well-developed that it feels like you are watching a movie rather than reading a book.

The Meridian world is a dark one, with every sign pointing to a mass destruction imminent. Like the story of Noah, “the flood is coming, an event that will completely purge the earth of corruption.” But of course, like all prophecies, it was ignored, and instead, a war is coming. The wealthy society Talos and the more “down to earth (Meridian)” society Nova have been at odds, and things are coming to a head.

The story revolves around Ash Alexander, a 12-year-old boy who is recruited into the Nova Corps. We join his family as they experience horrific trials and tribulations that can only happen in a world gone mad. And this is just the beginning!

Game of Gods This is the first and second book in a series. Blood of Talos It’s out now, so you won’t be disappointed when the first book is finished! There’s another book, a novella, I should mention, The legacy of bone marrow; This is an introduction to the world of Meridian. No reading required before starting Game of Godsbut it does help with the overall state of mind of getting into this other world.

If you like dark fantasy and science fiction, this book is worth a read! You know what, I loved this book so much that I already bought a second copy! You can buy it Game of Gods here.
