‘Descent’ Review – Horror Fiction Review

Colony decline

By Paula Limbaugh

Colony: The Fall is the third book in the Colony Saga series written by Michael Brent Collins. I have been looking forward to this book very much because I am eager to know the fate of Ken and his team of survivors!

The story picks up where the second book left off, with Ken’s young children purposely alerting the zombies of their location, and it’s only a matter of time before the zombies catch up. They’ve made their way through the elevator shaft, and are now trying to descend via a plane that crashed halfway through the building they’re in. The zombies have morphed into a newer, smarter species, and Ken’s daughters are changing as well, somehow now able to communicate with them. The zombies are now able to heal themselves, is there any way to defeat and outwit this new breed?

Survival mode kicks into high gear once again as the team tries to outrun the zombies without losing any members. It’s another fast-paced, plot-packed episode, though admittedly it can be a little redundant. But that doesn’t detract from the story in any way, and I recommend reading this continuing saga. I was planning on only reading a few chapters, but ended up reading the whole thing in one sitting!

In this book, Ken is seriously injured and Buck begins to lead the team to escape. Buck is a former county contractor who is familiar with the city’s sewer system, and he hopes that this knowledge can help them escape. But the ending is not happy, because they open the door to escape, but encounter new unspeakable horrors!

Ah! Yes, the fourth book is almost here and we must wait impatiently for the sequel to this bestselling series. Author’s Note: Please hurry up!

Order this right here.
