Crow Creek by Thomas Drago Review – Horror Fiction Review

By Vitina Molgaard

“He who passively accepts evil is just as much a participant in it as he who helps to perpetrate it. He who accepts evil without protesting is actually cooperating with it.”

Martin Luther King.

Crow Creek, North Carolina, is a small community where everyone knows their neighbors, or do they? no way For hundreds of years, people here have been driven by demons in their lives, but that is about to change.

There’s a reason Pastor Akon has been the leader of First Baptist Church longer than anyone can remember, because sometimes people might real A freak, and this priest fits that category perfectly. With a few exceptions, most of the town admires him deeply. And it is these exceptions that are about to destroy the facade he has lived on for centuries.

A catastrophic event in the town spurs the mayor, our protagonist Brad Gleason, into action to investigate and deal directly with Arkon and the deep dark secrets he has been using to subject the townspeople to his evil influence.

Mr. Drago has written a wonderful story here, interweaving the dark secrets and traditions of the South, which many have come to know. The various beliefs and annual rituals come to life, adding spice to the story and giving us, the readers, comfort that this community is receptive to the secrets and evil that lurks there. This is a place where neighbors trust one another and church members trust their pastors.

I read this book, completely I loved it. The balance of evil trying to succeed is great, and fighting for justice leads to an amazing battle. It may seem simplistic, but it is not in this story. I recommend you pick up this book and read it, it is well worth your time.
