Jasper Bark, The Crimson Bed of Delights Review – Horror Fiction Review

By Paula Limbaugh

Oh, Jasper Barker, how could you do this? You have involved two kind old people in a disgusting story of debauchery. It is horrible! I am kidding, seriously, Crimson Bed of Delight Reading is a pleasure.

Old Rose and her husband Stanley lead a comfortable and somewhat boring life. When Rose is asked to look after the neighbor’s cats, she readily agrees. Ah, but you know how tempting it is to be allowed into someone’s home when they’re not home. Rose’s snooping leads her to a bedroom that contains the most unusual and gorgeous bed one could imagine, and she must show it to Stanley. So, next time she asks him to accompany her to feed the cats.

Hmm… what’s wrong with them? An elderly couple decides to sneak into their neighbor’s bed for a romp. Wow, that’s dangerous. But soon, Rose finds herself in trouble. You see, this lapse in judgment comes with a price. If Rose had known her neighbors a little better, or, in other words, not succumbed to temptation, she and Stanley could have continued to live their simple life.

But this is not the case, dark forces have been awakened, and worse, a dark force is growing inside of Ross. When his neighbor Peter confronts Ross about what happened in his house while he was away, Ross realizes the horrible truth: what happened after this small indiscretion.

Oh, Jasper Barker’s way of telling a story is really very imaginative. Witty, dark, erotic, and a little scary, what more could you ask for? I couldn’t imagine the ending, and when I read that, I was stunned! You really should read this book, you can buy it here!

5/5 Crimson Joy
