Twelve years ago, a snowstorm hit the small New England town of Conventry, killing dozens of people. The cause of death was not extreme weather conditions, but some kind of creature in the snow… These creatures fly on the wind, grab unsuspecting people, lift them into the air, and then drop them to death like a kamikaze. However, some people disappeared in the snow and never appeared again.
Twelve years later, another blizzard hits the town. Those who lost their loved ones before must now fight to survive as the creatures return. But even more shocking is that the people who disappeared into the snow over a decade ago are now coming back, hoping to escape this thing After them.
Christopher Golden’s contribution to the horror genre was the creation of a new, exciting and extremely terrifying ice creature that emerges from heavy snow and kills anyone it comes into contact with. Snow blindness It’s a death flurry, and so is the ending. I wish the novel was longer, with 50 or 60 extra pages in the last third. While the middle section is good, it seemed to drag a bit, especially the heist. A longer ending would have balanced that out.
Mr. Golden is one of the best writers today because of his talent with words. His writing style is simple, yet profound. This style may seem easy to imitate, but it is actually quite difficult and takes years to master. This is a talented writer. He should have Top 10 New York Times bestseller list. He is awesome!
A fascinating storyline, great characters, and gory, terrifying creatures that are the stuff nightmares are made of. Snow blindness If you can handle branches banging against your windows at night, read it during the next snowstorm. Who knows… maybe it won’t be the branches at all.
